We've been having quite a lot of rainfall these days.

When it rains, the level of rainfall easily reaches 70 mm or so in two to three hours, causing the creek running right by the Museum to overflow in a snap.

Fishing Trip

I was on a fishing trip on Nov. 21, 22 and 23 with my friends.It was meant to be the last expedition of the current fishing season.

The catch was five tucunarés (cichlid, a.k.a. 'eye-spotted bass') of 2-3 kg in weight.

Betweem Intermittent Rains

While the winter in Japan seems to be a little forwarded this year, the rainy season here in the Amazon looks like being forwarded as well.

I am currently a little occupied with meetings with my legal counsel to take measures to meet an expected court case, but every time I ventured to take photos of wonders of the natural world at odd moments I got rained on. Here are some shots taken when Lady Luck smiled on me.

Manaus Left Isolated As Its Phone Lines Were Struck By Lightning

My net connection went dead again for about 5 hours yesterday.

It was reported that the disruption had been caused by lighting which appeared to hit the same relay facilities in Port Velho located in the jungles some 800km away from Manaus that had caused another disruption last month. It's in the middle of a thick forest area which is only accessible to four-wheel drive service vehicles.
